Welcome to the Shark Tank

You've reached the web home of Team SharkBait. (Hoo ha ha!)

This fine fellowship of fearless friends has been chomping on puzzles since 2004, when the siren song of Bay Area puzzling became too strong for the initial four members to ignore. Then traveling under the odd moniker of Manic MRats (no, we don't know what it means either), the fledgling crew bravely faced the dangers of Shinteki: Untamed and managed to escape relatively unscathed.

Heartened by the fact that they managed not to kill each other, the Manic MRats vowed to cast off their odd choice of team name (and especially their extremely uncomfortable choice of team uniform) and return as a force to be reckoned with. The following spring, the newly christened Team SharkBait once again surfed to the south, this time for Shinteki: Decathlon. The team proved that an exquisite sense of fashion and interior decorating more than made up for their inability to do simple arithmetic. But then, it's hard to go wrong in a van filled with tiki lights.

Recognizing that they had worked out the kinks from their inaugural event, Team SharkBait quickly set their sights on more lucrative goals. In August they shanghaied two more team members and set sail for The Mooncurser's Handbook... and a legacy was born. Since then, the erstwhile adventurers have battled evil tyrants, chased down a substitute Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, descrambled Scrabble letters, and driven themselves to madness (fortunately, it was a round-trip flight). To learn more about their exploits, check out the team history page.

The team has also contributed their own brand of foolishness to the Seattle area, and the individual members have hosted and contributed to countless puzzle events for the Microsoft puzzle community.
